Profile:
Real Name: James Riddle Hoffa
Birth Date: 14 Feb. 1913
Vanished: 30 July 1975 (fate unknown)
Born: Brazil, Indiana

Jimmy Hoffa had lost his father when he was only seven and his family was left with hard
times.  His family had part time jobs and struggled even more so as the stock maket crash
made things even harder.  In the 1930's Hoffa was already part of the Teamsters local 299
and in 1952 he was elected international Vice President of the Teamsters union.  Hoffa was
then elected President of the Teamsters union in 1957.  Unfortunately, Hoffa had already became a suspect of corruption and had afffiliations with the mob.  In 1964, Hoffa secured the trucking industries first nationawide contract.  In 1967, he was convicted of corruption (misuse of funds) and served four years in jail.  His sentence was originally thirteen years but President Richard Nixon agreed to reduce his sentence providing that Hoffa didn't engage in any union activities until 1980.  Hoffa dissapeared and was last seen in the parking lot of a restuarant on July 30, 1975 in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.  Rumors suggest that the mafia killed him due to information he carried.  Nobody knows for sure what happened to him, however there was a funeral held for him in 1995 of which over 2,000 people attended.  Remarkably, Jimmy Hoffa's son, James Hoffa, Jr., became president of the Teamsters in 1999.
